Is there anything better than grabbing a good glass of wine after a long day? Whether you’re heading out on the town for girls night, or wanting to cozy up with your significant other for date night, Charlotte has TONS of restaurants and bars with great bottles of wine. Sometimes, with so many amazing options, it can be tough to narrow down where to go. Not to worry – I’ve narrowed it down to my top 5 favorite places to get wine in Charlotte.
- Foxcroft Wine Co.– Foxcroft is hands down one of my favorite places in all of Charlotte, let alone my favorite place to get wine. There are two locations: one in South Park, and one in Dilworth. The Dilworth location is where I spend more time than I would like to admit in this blog post. They have the most amazing food, and the service has been incredible every time I’ve been a customer. My favorite things on the menu are the brussel sprouts, truffle fries, and the three cheese flatbread. They are DELICIOUS. If you’ve ever been inside Foxcroft, you’ll know that selecting a bottle of wine can be extremely overwhelming. Every wall is lined with bottle upon bottle, and narrowing down the selection can be tough. Luckily, their staff is extremely knowledgeable and has never failed to pick out a fabulous bottle of wine for me to try. Every time I go to Foxcroft, I end up taking pictures of the wine bottles so I can be sure to find them again in the future.
- Dilworth Tasting Room – Located on the Dilworth/South End border, I absolutely looove Dilworth Tasting Room. DTR is an awesome spot any time of year, which makes it a go-to restaurant for my friends and I, and a GREAT date night spot. In the summertime, sitting outside on the back patio is a perfect way to spend a summer evening. In the wintertime, the inside of the restaurant is extremely cozy and the perfect place to wine and dine with a delicious charcuterie board or flatbread. You can even get flights of different wines if you can’t choose just one! Ladies and gents, Dilworth Tasting Room needs to be on your bucket list if you haven’t been already.
- Cork Screw on 5th – I went to Cork Screw on 5th for the very first time the other night. All I can say is… I don’t know what took me so long to try it out! Cork Screw is awesome. Located in the heart of Uptown (below the Vue), Cork Screw has weekly specials, and according to their website that I stalked, they have: 42 wines by the glass, 389 wines by the bottle (that line the walls and look super Instagram-worthy), and 30 different beers on rotation (if you aren’t a huge fan of wine).
- Leroy Fox – Located right in the middle of South End (and Cotswold!) Leroy Fox has great food, cocktails, and HALF PRICED wine bottles every Tuesday. I love Leroy Fox because of it’s atmosphere and location. Once you’re done grabbing dinner and drinks, you’re just a quick walk away from other bars and restaurants in South End which is super convenient.
- 300 East – Located in the heart of Dilworth on adorable East Blvd, 300 East has been around for over 32 years! They are family owned and serve lunch, dinner, and are well known for their wine and Sunday brunch. Speaking of wine, 300 East has HALF PRICED wines by the glass on Mondays, half off glasses of rose on Tuesdays, and half off bottles of wine on Sundays! 300 East is one of my favorite places to go during the winter months because of how cozy the atmosphere is on the inside of the restaurant. I will surely be making my fair share of trips there now that Fall is right around the corner.
There you have it, my top 5 favorite places to drink wine in Charlotte. Have you been to any of these places? Do you agree with the restaurants I have on my list? Let me know in the comments below, and please please please stay safe in the storm!
