Ever since I was little, I’ve been fascinated by makeup. I used to sneak into my moms bathroom and play with her lipstick, and I would completely freak out whenever she’d give me some lipstick of my own. Fun fact: my mom and I still share makeup to this day whenever we’re together. I know, I know… sharing makeup with other people is frowned upon, but I’m just keepin’ it real over here. The mother/daughter makeup bond can’t be broken!
Growing up, whenever I’d go to the mall with my mom, I would always insist on browsing Sephora – specifically the Urban Decay section. I was completely captivated by how glittery, bright, and bold everything looked. When I was a freshman in high school, I convinced my mom to buy me a tube of Urban Decay Heavy Metal glitter eyeliner in shade “Spandex” for a school dance, and I was OBSESSED with it. My whole group of girlfriends used it for every single dance (again, I’m aware that sharing makeup is bad, but what can you do) and when I think of high school dances, I think of Urban Decay.
Ever since that first tube of glitter eyeliner, I was hooked on Urban Decay. I later went on to obsess over the original Naked Palette (and every other palette they’ve ever made), and I can honestly say that my vanity is filled with 90% Urban Decay products to this day.
Alllll of this information is to say: about a month ago, I received an email that completely made my day. I had been invited to the Urban Decay on Tour Event here in Charlotte! I was able to attend the event, sip some cocktails, and meet the UD team along with some other local Charlotte bloggers and makeup artists. Everyone was SO nice and made me feel extremely comfortable, even though I had been nervous to show up to the event alone.
I am feeling so thankful for this blogging community and for the opportunities it’s brought me over the last year and a half. Meeting new people and developing relationships with some of my favorite brands brings me so much joy, and it was an absolutely amazing to have attended an event hosted by a brand that has such a special place in my heart. Thank you, Urban Decay, for the invite! Please come back to Charlotte soon!
